Hungover Home Fries


As you struggle to fight off your hangover on Sunday morning, you try to recount what you did last night…or five. Handle pulls and shotguns have left you in miserable condition, and you now realize you’ve got to study for that finance midterm tomorrow. Time to whip up some home fries, drink a large coffee and see who’s got some Adderall.


2 Russet Potatoes

2 Cloves of Garlic

1 Small Onion

1 Table Spoon of Cooking Oil

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 Teaspoon of Paprika (optional)

1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder (optional)


Start by washing the two potatoes and cutting them into small pieces. Heat the oil in a pan on medium heat. Place your potatoes into the pan and coat them in the oil. Place a cover on the pan and let the potatoes steam. It should take 10 minutes for them to soften, so make yourself a Bloody Mary in the mean time. While enjoying your first drink of the day, mince up the garlic and onions. Test the potatoes after 10 minutes by placing a fork into one and seeing if it is soft.


Once your potatoes are soft, throw the onions and garlic into the pan. Stir the combination so the flavors get combined. Continue occasionally stirring for 10 additional minutes so that the potatoes get crispy. Add the salt and pepper and other spices to taste.

Following these steps, you will have the perfect side to help recover from a long weekend. Pair it up with some eggs stolen from your roommate for the perfect recovery meal.
